Director / Founder - Kylie Gorrie
Kylie brings over 20 years of experience in education, having worn many hats along the way, including 10 years in senior leadership as a Deputy and Assistant Principal. With extensive experience leading curriculum and curriculum design, Kylie has always been driven by one core belief: every child deserves what they need to reach their full potential.
After having Jai and returning to the classroom while juggling two young children, it became increasingly clear that—even with the very best intentions—classroom teachers cannot always meet the needs of every learner. This was never a failure of teachers or schools, but a reflection of the realities of resourcing and time.
Now, nearly three years on, and as a parent to children with neurodivergence and dyslexia, Kylie sees this even more clearly. One of her children requires hundreds of exposures for concepts to stick, while the other needs only one or two before racing ahead and requiring extension. Their teachers are incredible and work tirelessly—but children learn differently, and equity looks different for every learner.
KCJ Education was created to meet this need. Our tutors are specialist-trained in Tier 3 intervention through Learning Matters and hold world-recognised dyslexia qualifications, ensuring children receive highly targeted, individualised support.
As KCJ grew, another gap became evident: children also need a safe space to decompress after school. This led to the birth of our After School Programme—a “giant playdate” philosophy grounded in connection, play, and regulation. Think screen-free time, silk swings, sensory mats, board games, baking, arts and crafts, and joyful exploration.
What Kylie missed most when leaving the classroom was EOTC—getting to truly know children in different environments. From this, the KCJ Holiday Programme was born, offering meaningful excursions and experiences led by experienced professionals, allowing children’s curiosity, confidence, and independence to flourish.
At its heart, KCJ Education is built on everything Kylie and Mike want for their own two children. Our philosophy will always remain the same: supporting every child to feel safe, supported, and empowered to reach their potential.
